“Soul Crimes” single review by Tumblr.com

Slow Burning Car – Soul Crimes Slow Burning Car is a driven, passionate and charismatic band with a focus on punk and alternative rock. With their recent release, “Soul Crimes”, Slow Burning Car managed to refine their sonic offering and bring their vision to new staggering heights. The sound of this song makes me think of the early work from bands such as The Ataris or The Foo Fighters. It’s all about tasteful melodies and compelling lyricism with a personal touch. The verses are often driven by cool palm-muted guitars, while the choruses really open up with a massive wall of sound, allowing the song to reach a deep climax and a lush texture. On this song, Slow Burning Car showcases the band’s...

Slow Burning Car – Soul Crimes 11:58 AM NataliePerez NataliezWorld 0 Reviews, Single Reviews, Slow Burning Car, Slow Crimes “Vol. 2 – The Scattering”, was released in 2009, the first and last time hearing, let alone speaking with the act behind that release Slow Burning Car, for my own website Natalie’s World. Now 8 years have passed and since then, the band has gone on to release more new music, “Assumption” in 2013 with a follow-up to follow that release titled “Defection”. Making it happen for a third time are Los Angeles rock band Slow Burning car as their album “Assumption” takes us across a riff infested American landscape in search of their very own yellow brick road. Their previous album – has it really been 4 years? – “Volume 2 – The Scattering” established this band as a thinking man’s rock band with the necessary lyrical and musical skills and imagination to walk the line of radio friendliness whilst keeping your ears off balance. Certainly, it is that left of centre lyricism so evident in their previous album that livens up both the dystopian bleakness of “Blake” and the candyfloss sidewalk strutting of “Carnaby Shuffle”. It’s a maturity thing for this...

Slow Burning Car: Assumption Melodic/Progressive Rock Craig Hartranft www.dangerdog.com 5-4-13 If anything California’s Slow Burning Car are some imaginative fellows, bringing their third album of eclectic melodic rock, Assumption. Eclectic is an appropriate description for the tunes here, or maybe, varied. However, the album isn’t quite as cohesive and compelling at the previous Vol. 2 – The Scattering. SBC still blends various styles for their melodic rock but, with exception of two songs, that prog rock element, found in the previous work, is elusive. It comes with Blake and The Scorpio Complex, two of the best songs here. Then, except for a few other songs, the album is simply a mixed affair of creativity disguised as quirkiness. The best...
